Liftoff!
This fall, NDIA RMC and AFCEA are bringing the excitement of model rocket launches to more than 4,000 students from seven school districts in and around Colorado Springs. The program is designed to get students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Fifth graders receive free model rockets to decorate before launching them at events around the Pikes Peak Region. Students from the following school districts are participating this year:
- Harrison School District 2
- Widefield School District 3
- Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8
- Colorado Springs School District 11
- Academy School District 20
- Lewis-Palmer School District 38
- Falcon School District 49
Each launch event includes multiple classes and, in some cases, multiple schools.
Volunteer for Memorial Park launches
We’re looking for volunteers to help with setup, teardown and facilitating launches at our largest events in Memorial Park.
Shifts are 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Feel free to join for all or part of the day.

Wednesday, Oct. 14: District 11
Thursday, Oct. 15: District 11
