The perfect way to celebrate USSPACECOM HQ! Join the Rocky Mountain Chapter NDIA for our annual Rocky Mountain Ball, where we will honor Gen. James Dickinson, Commander, US Space Command, with our highest honor: The prestigious General James V. Hartinger Award, for his outstanding achievements in military space.

After the reception, dinner, and awards, hit the dance floor with Last Patrol, a high-energy variety band covering 70’s classic, 80’s new wave, 90’s alternative, 00’s rock, funk, reggae, and ska! Last Patrol consists of two retired Army soldiers, one retired Navy sailor, and a military family member; they regularly support active military, veteran, and first responder organizations from their base in Colorado Springs.

Party flats will be provided for the ladies, and gentlemen in uniform are invited to wear their favorite mess dress party shirts. The dance party will be accompanied by dessert and coffee.

Ask about additional sponsorship opportunities: Program, National Anthem, Centerpiece, AV sponsorships, and (new for this year) an eighth Patriot Awards! You can view all sponsorships HERE.

The National Defense Industrial Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter is proud to present the 40th Annual Rocky Mountain Ball.  The Chapter will hold the ball at the Double Tree Hilton on 18 August 2022.  As always, this is a black-tie event (mess dress) considered a widely attended gathering with a mixture of retired and active-duty military, civilians, and industry.

At the ball, we will present the Hartinger Award and Patriot Awards again.

  • Hartinger Award this year honors General James H. Dickinson, Commander, United States Space Command.
  • Patriot Awards honor military members who have gone above and beyond in the performance of their mission. We will post more information about the Patriot Awards recipients as we get closer to the Ball.

We will have dignitaries from all branches of service and some of our sister nations, such as Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. We will also have industry and corporate VIPs in attendance.

National Defense Industrial Association member companies may participate in the purchase of tables, sponsorships, or seats at the event.  With the purchase of a ten-seat table, the industry provides four seats at their table for government seating, as assigned by the Ball Committee.  The Ball Committee uses excellent care in the seating process to avoid potential conflicts of interest between the government and industry participants.
