NDIA-RMC STEM

The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) represents all facets of the defense and technology industrial base and serves all military services. The Rocky Mountain Chapter of NDIA (NDIA-RMC), through its Workforce Committee, provides interaction between government, industry, academia, and the public at large for the strengthening of the national security Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

This year the Chapter’s Workforce Development Committee (WFD) worked with the Pikes Peak Regional Science Fair (PPRSF) to provide six special awards at the fair held on 24 Feb 18. These awards we gave to unique science fair projects in grades 6th through 8th that exemplified superior scientific rigor and were judged to be closely aligned with national security topics of interest. One outstanding scientist in each grade was awarded $200 and a nice certificate. Three other excellent young scientists received a cash award of $100 and a nice certificate. The WFD Committee continually works with kids to encourage them to pursue STEM activities through science fairs and many other activities. These kids were recognized at the Fair’s awards ceremony on 27 Feb 18 at Colorado College.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Pikes Peak Regional Science Fair. Every student who participated in the fair is a winner and has shown exceptional interest and ability in STEM.
